Thirty three years ago JULIA HOLMES started an Art Gallery in Haslemere, Surrey, specialising in genuine antique maps and views with fine examples of the cartography of three centuries, from the early seventeenth century to Victorian Times.

These are now exhibited on her trade stands at county shows, such as Badminton Horse Trials and the Country Landowners Annual Game Fair or may be seen, strictly by appointment, in Sussex, or possibly London.

Julia also stocks a large variety of prints, both old and new, of sports, animals and every aspect of country life. These include Limited Editions of prints by up and coming modern artists, as well as old favourites like Lionel Edwards and Cecil Aldin, or the famous sporting artist, Henry Alken, of earlier times.

Described here are a few examples of the sort of items for sale. Many of these old engraved views or maps are now hard to find, but Julia regards her job as a treasure hunt and enjoys finding and preserving these scarce and fascinating items which are a record of life long ago.
